Evaluating the Uni-Tool® Performance with Best Wireline Tools

To evaluate the Uni-Tool's performance against current market pulling tools, in-house jar testing was conducted using the LiMAR® Flow Loop and Impact Tester. The Impact Tester is designed to qualify both Coiled Tubing (CT) and Wireline (WL) products. It features a large hydraulic ram and flow loop to handle the high push and pull forces seen in CT work. Additionally, it has a lighter weight, automated ram with an integral load cell and sensors, enabling a high number of jarring cycles in quick succession.

The impact testing utilised the LiMAR® Kinetic Adjustable Spring Jar & Accelerator combination to generate the necessary impact force. For each new tool test, the Accelerator Belleville Washers were replaced to ensure consistent and fair impact force. The LiMAR Spring Jar Calibration Sub was also used regularly to maintain consistent jar firing settings.

Three jar settings were selected for the experiment: 500 lbs, 750 lbs, and 1,000 lbs. The goal was to achieve 250 impacts at each setting before progressing to the next higher setting. The results were impressive, showcasing the high performance and durability of the Uni-Tool® in demanding well intervention scenarios.
