The challenges of today’s corkscrewed, high reach, extended and deviation wells are becoming ever more complex. To overcome these challenges there are many techniques which can be applied, adding weight, reducing friction, removing rigidity, adjusting length and changing alignment are the main aspects for consideration usually required to ensure the wireline toolstring successfully and safely reaches the target depth. Strategically positioning roller tools within the Wireline assembly will greatly reduce drag by placing roller wheels at the potential drag points. Rollers can be incorporated into most standard tools, anywhere there is potential for excessive friction or contact drag within a slickline or braided line string.
LiMAR Roller Stem can be used in place of standard wireline stem or sinker bar and configured along the length of the toolstring, whilst Multi Roller type Subs are used in conjunction with weight bar and offer flexibility by being able to fit a roller device within more involved or complex toolstrings which may include an accelerator and / or power jar.
To greatly increase the chances of reaching the desired depth, heavier weight alternatives to carbon steel, such as leaded or tungsten stem can be used. The additional weight, pulls the toolstring through the completion whilst improving the inertia effect when traversing over a high angle point within the well. Adding Roller Subs above and below a section of Tungsten further increases the chances of a successful operation. The additional weight also assists Spang / Link Jar manipulation at depth, providing the necessary bi-directional mechanical jarring force to perform varied operational tasks.
The LiMAR Roller & High Deviation tools are based on years of operational experience which focus on robust, pragmatic and proven solutions.
Like all LiMAR roller tools, the Multi Roller Wheel Sub and Swivel Type are short and compact, perfect for height restricted and high angled wells. Easy to operate and maintain, all tools are fitted with six roller wheels per assembly, hardened axles for extreme durability and strategically offset at 60 degrees for drag reduction.
When extra mass is required to get you into high deviation, the Roller Stem Section and Tungsten stem offer additional bi-directional impact force for jarring operations, especially when used with the high angled linear jar/tubular. The Advanced Kickover Tool offers enhanced friction reduction with a unique roller swivel design.
